Job Title: Part-Time Chef (Nursing Home)

Location: Carrickfergus, Co Belfast

Job Type: Part-Time

Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Three Days a Week

Salary: Competitive Hourly Rate with Overtime at Time and a Quarter

This part-time role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef who is passionate about creating nutritious and delicious meals for residents.

Job Description:

As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for the residents of the nursing home, ensuring that all dietary needs and preferences are met. This role requires someone who is skilled in creating a variety of meals, from comforting classics to health-focused dishes, all while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and prepare daily meals in accordance with dietary requirements and preferences of the residents.

- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

- Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.

- Monitor inventory and place orders as necessary to maintain stock levels.

- Collaborate with nursing home staff to create menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents.

- Provide excellent customer service to residents, addressing any dietary concerns or special requests.

- Work efficiently to manage time and resources, ensuring meals are prepared and served on schedule.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook, preferably in a healthcare or residential setting.

- Knowledge of dietary requirements and food safety regulations.

- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Flexibility to work additional hours if needed.
